This session will introduce the process and different approaches to qualitative data analysis. It is suitable for PhD students and academics new to qualitative research. Topics covered:

  • Thematic analysis
  • Coding of qualitative data
  • Developing inductive and deductive frameworks

Learning outcomes: Participants will

  • Understand how to approach thematic analysis
  • Practice thematic analysis
  • Understand the difference between inductive and deductive approaches
